MWC 2025 Curiosities
Here’s a quick look at the biggest surprises from this year’s MWC, where the latest innovations in the connectivity sector were once again on display.

A Biological Computer
The most groundbreaking reveal at MWC was the presentation of the first commercial biological computer, the "CL1". Developed by the Australian company Cortical Labs, this innovative device uses a culture of real neurons, maintained in a nutrient solution, which grow on a silicon chip. This chip enables communication with the neurons through electrical impulses, both sending and receiving signals.
A Smartphone for Pets
The "PetPhone" by PawLink is designed as a smartphone for your pet. This device features a bite-resistant touchscreen that allows your dog or cat to make video calls with you, receive treats remotely, and even monitor their physical activity and heart rate.
A Phone That Changes Color
The "Realme 14 Pro+" features a rear cover with thermochromic pigments that react to temperature, changing from cream to a more intense blue when exposed to cold (below 16°C).
Humanoids of All Kinds
Robots designed for multiple applications, with both human and animal-like appearances, were showcased across all MWC Barcelona pavilions. A standout was the "Unitree G1", the robot that greeted King Felipe during the event’s institutional visit and is now available for purchase in Spain for €21,900.
A K-Pop Stage at MWC
KTCorp allowed attendees to dance along to the latest K-Pop trends in an experience featuring AI-generated dancers.
